About Druna Ghu
Bhutan has traditionally grown nine types of grains: rice, millet, sweet buckwheat, bitter buckwheat, barley, amaranth, mustard, wheat and maize. Collectively known as druna ghu, the nine grains were not only grown as food but also accorded an elevated stature in society and had cultural significance. Druna Ghu as a business with the eponymous name aims to revive old traditions and specializes in producing handmade cookies using the historic grains.
